The Plan of Salvation

God has a plan for us. He wants all of us to be happy, not just some of us. He also wants us to live with Him after this life. In His love and mercy, He is doing everything He can to help us get there. He wants Heaven to be a place of peace and happiness. He knows that in order for that to happen, He can only admit into Heaven those who obey His commandments and accept His ordinances. In order to make this easier for us, He has blessed us with prophets and apostles to guide and direct us. Even more importantly, He has blessed us with a Savior, namely Jesus Christ, who frees us from our sins when we repent.

This was a very simplified version of God's Plan of Salvation. The following link will take you to a more detailed, but still somewhat simplified version on the Plan of Salvation from one of our church's official websites:

Following is another link, but which outlines in video format, details on a portion of the Plan of Salvation:

Please also feel free to contact our full-time missionaries. They are set apart to elaborate on gospel principles, including the Plan of Salvation. To chat online with one of them, please click on "chat" in the upper-right-hand corner of the following website's home page: www.mormon.org

  1. The knowledge that Jesus is our savior who truly does love us and came to this earth to suffer for our sins and die is of infinite worth. To also know that God is literally the father of our spirits and that he created this plan for us to become like him is also of that same worth to me.

  2. I have always viewed my Heavenly Father as a caring, loving Father. Much like my own Father. I'm so blessed to have an earthly Father who has taught me loving kindness and patience. My Dad is always there for me. For me, it has helped me to see my Heavenly Father in the same way. My Heavenly Father loves me and wants me and my family to live with Him after this life. I strive hard every day to live worthy of such an incredible blessing!

    1. I think sometimes we think of God in a detached way but when we really understand that he is our Father just as is a loving earthly father, it helps us to understand why God cares about us so much and why he gives commandments which are there to help us become truly free and happy. Simply because he loves us.

  3. The more I study the Plan of Salvation, the more gratitude and respect I feel for a God who has infinite love and wisdom. His plan is perfect and is designed in such a way to bring us maximum peace. Without a knowledge of this, I would not be as happy and optimistic of the future as I am now.

I know that the Plan of Salvation is real. Six years ago my aunt died of cancer. I was sad at the time but because of the Plan of Salvation I will see her again. The Plan of Salvation was made so that everybody can be happy and see each other again after death. I bear my testimony that the Book of Mormon is true and that we will all see Heavenly Father again. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
